Pakistan Philosophical Association Celebrates Second Year
The Pakistan Philosophical Association marked its second anniversary during an Eid Milan Party held alongside the association’s 24th monthly meeting, drawing a large gathering of members and invited guests from across professional and academic circles. The event reinforced the association’s role as a platform for philosophical dialogue and community engagement.
Those present included Dr. Muhammad Javed Iqbal Nadeem (President, Pakistan Philosophical Association), Ghalib Ali Bandesha (former IG), Dr. Akram Chaudhry, Dr. Shaheena Asif, Shehzad Bhatta (former Director Special Education Punjab), Tanveer Abbas Tabish, Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed Bukhari, Dr. Rizwana Khalil, Javed Iqbal Bhatti, Nasif Awan, and Professor Atiya Syed, alongside other notable attendees including Syed Qamar Abbas Shah (Vice Chairman, SEP Pakistan), Dr. Idris Rana, Ishrat Shamim, Azma Zareen Nazia, Dr. Sajid Ali, Dr. Ejaz Haq Ejaz, Zafar Iqbal Bhatti Advocate, Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry Advocate, Dr. Mahmood Afzal Advocate, Manzoor Ahmed Chaudhry, Nabeela Akbar and Muhammad Dawood Tahir.
In his welcome address, Dr. Javed Iqbal Nadeem outlined the association’s objectives, noting that the Pakistan Philosophical Association organises monthly meetings where prominent and influential figures are invited to deliver lectures and share professional experience to enlighten participants. He emphasised philosophy’s pursuit of rational and logical answers to fundamental questions about existence, knowledge, ethics and reason, and underlined the association’s commitment to fostering thoughtful public conversation.
Professor Dr. Shaheena Asif Chaudhry lauded Dr. Nadeem’s efforts to bring together senior professionals from diverse fields, calling such gatherings a welcome initiative in today’s busy life. Many participants echoed this sentiment, commending the association for its continuous work to unite colleagues and create a space for meaningful exchange.
As part of the Eid Milan Party, commemorative shields were presented to honoured guests by Dr. Shaheena Asif Chaudhry in her capacity as President of Rotary Club Shadman, and all attendees received special shields to mark the second anniversary of the Pakistan Philosophical Association. The event closed on a note of appreciation for sustained collaboration and a shared commitment to promoting philosophical inquiry within Pakistan’s intellectual community.
