**Pakistan Sports Board Disburses Rs. 63.9 Million to 22 National Sports Federations**
The Pakistan Sports Board has concluded its latest phase of federation grants, allocating a total of Rs. 63.9 million in annual and special funding to 22 national sports federations across the country. The financial support aims to bolster the development and promotion of a wide range of sports in Pakistan, enabling athletes and federations to pursue excellence in upcoming events and training programs.
According to the official breakdown, the funding comprises Rs. 32.9 million in annual grants and Rs. 31 million in special grants. Among the recipients, the Athletics Federation of Pakistan received the highest allocation at Rs. 10 million, with a significant portion directed towards supporting Arshad Nadeem, the nation’s leading javelin thrower and an acclaimed international medalist.
Other federations benefitted from targeted financial support, including the National Rifle Association of Pakistan (Rs. 7 million), Pakistan Squash Federation (Rs. 5 million), Handball and Volleyball Federations (each Rs. 5 million), and the Pakistan Wrestling, Karate, and Kabaddi Federations (each receiving Rs. 3 million). Funding has also been extended to sports such as badminton, rugby, sailing, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, and tennis, affirming the board’s commitment to diversify its support beyond high-profile disciplines.
Additionally, niche sports organizations such as the Alpine Club of Pakistan and the Winter Sports Federation, focusing on adventure and seasonal competitions, received substantial backing to continue their developmental efforts.
The distribution reflects a strategic approach by the Pakistan Sports Board to maintain momentum in sports development, provide targeted assistance to high-potential athletes, and encourage broader participation in both mainstream and emerging disciplines nationwide.
