Saluting Armed Forces After Operation Bunyan
May 8, 2026 in Rawalpindi a dignified ceremony at the Awaam Pakistan Public Secretariat in Waris Khan marked the one year completion of Marqa e Haq and celebrated the achievements of Operation Bunyan. Attendees gathered to honour Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir and the Pakistan Armed Forces for their sacrifices and steadfast service to the nation.
The event opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran and filled the hall with chants of Pakistan Zindabad and Pak Army Paindabad, reflecting broad public support for the armed forces and the objectives of Operation Bunyan. The programme was hosted by Samina Shuaib, who guided proceedings with a focus on unity and national resolve.
Chaudhry Inam Zafar, central vice president of Awaam Pakistan, and Hafiz Usman Abbasi, additional general secretary, attended as guests of honour while Sardar Nazir Ahmed Kashmiri formally welcomed participants. Speeches highlighted how Operation Bunyan has become a symbol of collective courage and the need to maintain cohesion across society.
Representatives of the Christian community participated in large numbers, with Mumtaz Bhatti praising the party leadership and paying tribute to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the armed forces. Azhar Ali Qadri and Pastor Naser Gill offered special prayers for the country and its defenders, underscoring the inclusive nature of the gathering.
Hafiz Usman Abbasi described Operation Bunyan as a shining example of the sacrifices and bravery of Pakistan’s military, and urged that a renewed Marqa e Haq should address poverty, unemployment and injustice. He thanked Chaudhry Inam Zafar and the party leadership, and stressed that Awaam Pakistan will ensure equal representation for workers and make decisions through consultation and merit.
Chaudhry Inam Zafar reflected on the lessons of Marqa e Haq, saying the movement taught the nation unity and sacrifice. He reaffirmed public support for the defence of the homeland and credited the armed forces under Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir with thwarting hostile designs, while calling for collective effort and public service to meet national challenges.
Samina Shuaib reiterated the party’s commitment to merit and improved governance. Sardar Nazir Ahmed Kashmiri paid a strong tribute to the armed forces, and senior leader Razia Sultana said Awaam Pakistan remains dedicated to public service and positive change. The ceremony concluded with prayers for peace, prosperity and stability as participants honoured the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and reflected on the significance of Operation Bunyan.
