FIA Lahore Anti-Human Smuggling Crime Meeting

The Federal Investigation Agency’s Lahore zonal office held a crime meeting of the Anti-Human Smuggling Circle in which the Director of FIA Lahore reviewed the circle’s performance, ordered faster completion of pending inquiries and investigations, and directed intelligence-driven operations and a strict crackdown on organized human smuggling, forced labor and overseas begging networks. New measures to strengthen institutional reputation and enhance officers’ professional training were also mandated.
At the meeting, the Circle In-Charge of the Anti-Human Smuggling Circle provided a detailed briefing on the unit’s recent activities and performance. The Director expressed general satisfaction with the work done but underlined the need for continued improvement.
The Director instructed that all pending inquiries and investigative cases be concluded expeditiously on their merits. He emphasized that no delays or concessions would be tolerated in high-profile cases, and stressed accountability in handling such matters.
A stronger focus on intelligence-based operations was ordered against organized groups involved in human smuggling and incidents at sea. The Director directed that all available resources be mobilized to ensure the arrest and prosecution of suspects linked to these crimes.
The meeting also called for a concerted crackdown on elements involved in forced labor and the recruitment of individuals for begging abroad. These measures are aimed at dismantling criminal networks that exploit vulnerable people.
To improve the agency’s institutional standing and operational effectiveness, the Director announced the introduction of new initiatives. Particular emphasis was placed on enhancing professional training for FIA officers, with special attention to recently recruited personnel to build their investigative and operational capabilities.
The FIA spokesperson reiterated the agency’s commitment to sustained, intelligence-led action against human smuggling and related crimes and said the directions from the Lahore zone leadership would be implemented promptly.
