ASER 2025 Highlights from Gilgit-Baltistan Training

ASER Pakistan held a two-day Provincial Training of Trainers in Gilgit-Baltistan as part of the ASER 2025 cycle, bringing together educators, field leaders, and community partners to strengthen citizen-led learning assessments and support inclusive, quality education across the region.
The training gathered teachers and education practitioners to develop their skills in conducting and supervising ASER assessments. Sessions focused on standardizing assessment practices, building local capacity for data collection and analysis, and ensuring trainers are prepared to support field teams during upcoming assessment activities.
Participants included a mix of classroom educators, district field leaders, and representatives from civil society and community organizations. This broad participation aimed to create a network of trained personnel who can coordinate assessments at the community level and translate findings into actionable guidance for schools and local stakeholders.
Central goals of the workshop were to enhance the reliability of citizen-led learning assessments and to promote locally grounded approaches to measuring student learning. Trainers worked on practical tools and protocols designed to capture clear, comparable information about foundational skills and school performance that communities can use to advocate for improvements.
By investing in trainer capacity and fostering collaboration among education actors, ASER Pakistan aims to strengthen evidence-based decision-making in Gilgit-Baltistan and support more inclusive education outcomes. The training is positioned as a preparatory step toward wider field implementation during the ASER 2025 cycle.
