PNCA Puppet Show Celebrates Pakistan’s Folk Heritage

The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), under the National Heritage & Culture Division, staged a lively puppet show in Islamabad that combined traditional folk dances, stories, and skits to entertain and educate audiences of all ages while reinforcing efforts to preserve Pakistan’s cultural heritage.

The performance used puppetry as a vehicle to present a range of folk dances and narrative pieces drawn from local traditions. Skilled puppeteers integrated music, movement, and storytelling to create segments designed to appeal both to children and to adult viewers, blending entertainment with cultural education.

Organizers emphasized the dual purpose of the event: to delight audiences and to foster appreciation for the country’s artistic roots. Through accessible performances, the PNCA aimed to introduce younger generations to traditional art forms while offering adults an opportunity to reconnect with cultural narratives and performance styles.

The puppet show is part of the PNCA’s broader program of events intended to promote and preserve Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage. The council said it remains committed to creating community-focused cultural and artistic experiences through similar events and activities.
