Women Empowerment Drives Pakistan Cultural Revival

Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division Aurangzeb Khan Khichi said the government is committed to strengthening Pakistan’s cultural sector and promoting women’s active participation in national development at a seminar organized by Grow Women.

The minister commended Founder and CEO Romana Chaudhary for creating a platform that fosters cultural engagement, community building and social empowerment for women. Organizers reported a strong turnout from across the country and a clear rise in women’s participation compared with previous years, an indicator of growing momentum for women empowerment in the arts.

Khichi emphasized that Pakistani society remains rooted in values of goodwill, charity and collective welfare and promised that the Ministry of Culture, together with institutions such as PNCA and Lok Virsa, stands ready to collaborate on projects that deepen cultural understanding and strengthen community development. He urged women to continue sharing ideas and to take active roles in national initiatives that advance the country’s cultural landscape.

The minister highlighted that in a recent Lok Mela organised by the Cultural Ministry, participation by women artists outnumbered men compared with earlier years, reflecting a notable shift toward greater female engagement in arts and culture and underscoring the progress of women empowerment across cultural platforms.

Managing Director of the Associated Press of Pakistan Muhammad Asim Khichi attended the event and praised the organisation for promoting cultural diversity. He affirmed APP’s support for initiatives that showcase Pakistan’s heritage and help uplift women nationwide, reinforcing the collaborative commitment to expand opportunities for women within the cultural sector.
