Muslim INGOs Unite for Flood Relief Efforts in Pakistan

International Muslim NGOs Mobilize Joint Relief Effort for Flood Victims in Northern Pakistan
Leading international Muslim aid organizations in Pakistan have united to launch a coordinated emergency relief response following devastating floods in the northern districts of Mansehra, Buner, and Swat. The floods, triggered by recent cloudbursts, have left many families displaced, destroyed homes, and claimed numerous lives.
An emergency meeting was convened by the Muslim INGOs Forum, a coalition of international NGOs focused on disaster response, at the Zakat Foundation of America’s office in Islamabad. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Muhammad Rizwan and brought together country heads and senior representatives from prominent organizations, including the Zakat Foundation of America, Muslim Aid, Islamic Relief, Muslim Hands, Pak-Aid, Human Relief Foundation Baitul Mal USA, and READ Foundation.
In response to the urgent humanitarian crisis, members of the Forum agreed to operate under a unified strategy to deliver immediate aid. Relief efforts will focus on distributing cooked meals, essential food supplies, and basic household items to families affected by the floods. Specialized rapid response teams, already present in some of the hardest-hit areas, will be reinforced and expanded to strengthen the emergency operation.
The participating organizations pledged an initial fund of one million US dollars to support relief activities in the disaster-affected regions. Once the immediate needs of those impacted by the floods are met, the Forum plans to launch a long-term rehabilitation phase. This next phase will address the recovery and reconstruction of homes and infrastructure, aiming to restore normalcy in the affected communities.
