Students with disabilities from Special Education Institutes led an Independence Day walk and road show in Islamabad, demonstrating national pride and expressing solidarity with flood victims across Pakistan. The event, organized by the Directorate General of Special Education (DGSE) under the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, aimed to celebrate the country’s resilience while highlighting the importance of inclusion.

Participants marched with national flags and chanted slogans of unity, underscoring their enthusiasm, determination, and love for Pakistan. The program, titled “Marka-e-Haq,” focused on themes such as sacrifice, courage, and national integrity, drawing inspiration from the historic struggle for independence and connecting it to ongoing national challenges.

The Director General of DGSE, Capt. Asif Iqbal Asif, addressed the gathering and stressed the vital need for inclusion, resilience, and shared responsibility. He praised students with disabilities as symbols of strength, noting that their leadership during the celebration served as a reminder of the nation’s responsibility to support those affected by recent floods.

During the event, attendees observed a moment of silence and offered prayers for the lives and livelihoods lost to the devastating floods. Participants shared messages of hope, emphasizing the importance of compassion and collective action to assist flood victims.

The DGSE reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the active participation of persons with disabilities in all national events, striving for a more inclusive society where no child with a disability is left behind. The event reinforced the message that unity and support are essential to overcoming adversity and building a stronger nation.
