HPV Vaccine to Protect 4 Million Girls in Sindh

The World Health Organization (WHO) Pakistan has partnered with the Sindh Government and several key stakeholders to launch a major vaccination campaign aimed at protecting girls from cervical cancer. This initiative, supported by the Provincial Steering Committee and led by Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho, will provide the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine to approximately four million girls in the Sindh region.
The introduction of the HPV vaccine is a significant step towards reducing cervical cancer rates in the province. WHO Pakistan is working closely with provincial health officials and other partners to make sure that the vaccination campaign is well-prepared and effectively implemented.
This effort reflects a growing commitment to preventive healthcare in Sindh and sets an important precedent for similar public health campaigns across Pakistan. The vaccine rollout is expected to have a long-term positive impact on women’s health and reduce the burden of cervical cancer in the community.
