The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has taken significant steps to enhance healthcare services for its employees and residents of Islamabad. Under the directives of the Chairman of CDA, the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, and the Director General of Civil Defence, a high-level meeting was convened at the CDA headquarters to review ongoing initiatives and future plans aimed at upgrading the Capital Hospital’s facilities.
During the meeting, senior officials including the Member Administration, Member Environment, Member Finance, the Executive Director of Capital Hospital, representatives from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and other key officers discussed the progress made in providing quality healthcare services. The attendees expressed satisfaction with the current efforts and underscored the importance of further improvements.
It was reported that efforts under the leadership of the CDA Chairman and the Chief Commissioner are focused on recruiting highly qualified medical professionals to strengthen the hospital’s capabilities. The goal is to improve overall performance, ensuring that CDA employees and the public have access to state-of-the-art medical facilities. Specific measures are also underway to make the hospital financially autonomous, which is expected to facilitate better management and resource allocation.
Furthermore, plans are in place to expand the hospital’s capacity by increasing the number of beds, thereby accommodating more patients and reducing healthcare gaps within the city. These initiatives are part of a broader vision to ensure that Islamabad not only flourishes as a well-developed and beautiful city but also provides excellent healthcare services.
