Pakistan Civil Awards 2025 Review Highlights Merit and Inclusion

The Sub-Committee for the Pakistan Civil Awards convened a review meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Human Rights Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, where participants thoroughly examined nominations for the prestigious awards, emphasizing transparency, merit, and inclusivity.
The meeting, held at the Cabinet Division in Islamabad, brought together senior officials, including Secretary Ministry of Human Rights Abdul Khaliq Shaikh, alongside representatives from the Cabinet Secretariat and relevant departments from all provinces and regions. The diverse group of stakeholders ensured that the review process comprehensively represented Pakistan’s geographical and cultural spectrum.
During the session, committee members meticulously reviewed submissions put forward by various agencies. These nominations included individuals acclaimed for their remarkable contributions in areas such as public service, philanthropy, and social welfare. Discussions underscored the importance of adhering strictly to established policy guidelines and Terms of Reference, specifying that only extraordinary achievements with demonstrable nationwide impact qualify candidates for consideration.
Furthermore, the sub-committee clearly stated that routine advancement in one’s career would not, by itself, justify awarding a Civil Award. For those who had previously received Civil Awards, only additional and unquestionably extraordinary contributions rendered thereafter would merit reconsideration for subsequent recognition.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that the nomination process remains inclusive and equitable. Emphasis was placed on adequately representing women, minorities, persons with disabilities, and ensuring balanced provincial participation in line with national principles of unity, diversity, and fairness.
