**Pakistan and Azerbaijan Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Trade and Investment Ties**
President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Atif Ikram Sheikh, recently met with Khazar Farhadov, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, to explore avenues for enhancing economic, political, and social relations between the two countries. The meeting focused on boosting bilateral trade, fostering investment, and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
During the conversation, both sides expressed satisfaction with the recent growth and warmth seen in Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations, particularly on political, defense, economic, and social fronts. Atif Ikram Sheikh welcomed Azerbaijan’s decision to invest in Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of foreign investment for the country’s economic development.
Sheikh also highlighted Azerbaijan’s proactive and effective role within the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Azerbaijan in all fields. He underscored the need for deepening business-to-business (B2B) cooperation, emphasizing the vital role the private sector can play in bringing the two nations closer.
Ambassador Khazar Farhadov praised Sheikh’s active leadership as the President of the ECO Chamber of Commerce and Industry, commending his efforts to foster greater connectivity among member states. The ambassador also noted that the business community could play a significant role in expanding close commercial ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
Both sides reviewed the potential for increasing bilateral trade and improving business relations through new initiatives and strengthened partnerships. The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to further explore opportunities for collaboration and to continue building on the positive momentum in Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations.
