WMDC Convocation Celebrates New Medical Graduates

The WMDC Convocation held on 27 September 2025 at the Women Medical and Dental College Abbottabad brought together graduates, faculty and families to celebrate the achievements of MBBS and BDS students from batches 2011 to 2025. The main auditorium was filled with more than 1,000 guests as academic leadership and city dignitaries gathered to mark this milestone.

Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Haq, Vice Chancellor of Khyber Medical University Peshawar, attended as chief guest and shared remarks acknowledging the institutional leadership of Managing Director Dr. Azhar Khan Jadoon and his associates. Registrar Mr. Inamullah joined the ceremony alongside college principals and senior faculty to honour the graduates for their dedication.

During the convocation the college recognised academic excellence across both programmes. MBBS and BDS top graduates received medals and awards while the BDS cohort produced notable performances with Dr. Satia Qazi Sohail securing nine gold medals, Dr. Sidra Naseer taking seven gold medals, and Dr. Reem Noor and Dr. Fatima Khan each earning four medals. These distinctions highlighted the strong academic standards reinforced by teachers and families throughout the students’ training.

Faculty and administrative staff were also acknowledged for their contributions with commemorative souvenirs presented to teams across departments. Principal Prof. Dr. Salma Aslam Kundi and Principal Prof. Dr. Shahid Khan emphasised the collaborative effort of teachers, students and parents in reaching this achievement and underlined the college’s role in advancing medical education locally.

The ceremony concluded with Principal Prof. Dr. Salma Aslam Kundi and Managing Director Dr. Azhar Jadoon presenting a commemorative shield to Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Haq, capping off a day that celebrated professional readiness, academic excellence and the future of medical care emerging from Abbottabad. The WMDC Convocation reinforced the college’s commitment to training competent doctors and dentists for Pakistan’s healthcare needs.
