Literary Connections Series Launches in Lahore Advancing Cultural Integration

The National Book Foundation (NBF) has inaugurated its new “Literary Connections” series in Lahore, aligning with Federal Minister Dr. Khaliq Maqbool Siddiqui’s broader vision for cultural integration across Pakistan. The initiative, launched at the NBF’s Regional Office in Mustafa Town, represents a key step by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) to foster literary engagement and promote a spirit of national dialogue.
The launch event gathered prominent scholars, writers, and cultural figures from the region, highlighting Pakistan’s vibrant literary traditions and the value of intellectual collaboration. Under the guidance of NBF Managing Director Dr. Kamran Jahangir, the Foundation reinforced its commitment to promoting creative expression and inclusivity within the literary sphere.
Participants engaged in wide-ranging conversations covering Urdu literature, poetry, and the enduring role of storytelling in Pakistani culture. There was a collective call to expand similar initiatives that strengthen community bonds and inspire upcoming generations to connect with the nation’s literary heritage.
The Lahore event was praised for its seamless coordination and marked the first step in a series of nationwide gatherings. Building on this success, the NBF announced that the next “Literary Connections” event will be held in Karachi, with further chapters planned to ensure greater diversity and reach within the country’s literary landscape.
Dr. Siddiqui’s emphasis on integrating literature into education and national development remains at the heart of the series. By bridging regional and intellectual divides, “Literary Connections” aims to foster a unified cultural identity grounded in open dialogue, creativity, and a deep appreciation for literary heritage.
