Kashmir Exploitation Day Impact on Rights and Identity

Pakistani Federal Minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi has strongly condemned India’s actions in Kashmir, describing August 5 as a “black day” when the fundamental rights of Kashmiris were taken away. He argued that India openly violated international laws with its decisions on this date and has since continued to subject Kashmiri people to inhumane and unbearable oppression.
Khichi asserted that the measures imposed in occupied Kashmir aim to alter the region’s demographic makeup, turning its Muslim majority into a minority. He said this constitutes a breach of United Nations resolutions and called India’s actions illegal and oppressive.
The minister urged the global community to take serious notice of human rights violations and the enforcement of repressive laws in the disputed territory. He also said attempts are being made to erase Kashmiri cultural identity, further compounding the suffering of the people.
Reiterating Pakistan’s longstanding stance, Khichi described Kashmir as the “jugular vein” of Pakistan and pledged continued national solidarity with the Kashmiri people in their struggle for basic rights and self-determination.
