Kazakhstan and IIUI Advance Academic Collaboration

Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin of Kazakhstan met with Saad Al Ahmed, the newly appointed President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), to discuss ways to strengthen collaboration between Kazakhstan and the university. During the meeting, Ambassador Kistafin congratulated President Al Ahmed on his new role and expressed confidence that cooperation with Kazakh institutions, including the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and various Kazakh universities, would be further enhanced under his leadership.

The ambassador highlighted the long-standing relationship between IIUI and the Congress, acknowledging the university’s consistent support and active participation. He provided an overview of the Congress’s history and objectives, and officially invited President Al Ahmed to attend the upcoming eighth session of the Congress.

President Al Ahmed affirmed his intention to participate in the event and showed strong interest in deepening academic and cultural ties with Kazakhstan. Both parties also discussed the potential for increased partnership between universities from the two countries. A key outcome of the meeting was an agreement to establish a joint research center at IIUI in collaboration with a Kazakh university, aiming to promote further academic exchange and cooperation.
