Pak-EPA Inspects Marble and Granite Units for Environmental Compliance

The Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) has identified significant environmental and health concerns during its inspection of marble and granite industrial units in Islamabad’s Sangjani area. The agency’s enforcement team reported issues including excessive dust emissions, improper waste management, and a lack of adequate pollution control measures at several industrial sites.

These violations were found to contribute not only to environmental degradation but also to potential health risks for communities living nearby. In response to these findings, Pak-EPA has issued hearing notices to several marble and granite businesses in the area for failing to comply with environmental regulations. The companies have been directed to appear before the agency to present evidence of their compliance and detail any corrective actions they have taken to address the concerns raised during the inspections.
