Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, has inaugurated the third edition of the Young Graduates Exhibition, titled “Shared Distances,” at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA). The exhibition features the work of over 40 emerging artists from leading fine arts institutions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, including the National College of Arts, Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi Women University, and COMSATS University. The event was also attended by the Ambassador of Morocco.
Curated by Noor Fatima, “Shared Distances” brings together a diverse range of artistic expressions, such as painting, printmaking, sculpture, miniatures, and installation art. The participating artists explore powerful themes, including the interplay between presence and absence, intimacy and detachment, and the ever-changing nature of memory. Through their work, they reflect on concepts like resilience, longing, transformation, and the shared aspects of human experience.
Among the artists showcased are Amna Wajahat, Areeba Naeem, Fatima Khan, Hazafa Asim, Mishal Mahsud, Nida Zainab, Saleha Naseem, Samreen Rehman, Tayyaba Qureshi, Zakia Irfan Khan, and Zainab Akram, along with many others. Their collective talent highlights the depth and vibrancy of the next generation of Pakistani artists.
At the inauguration ceremony, Minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi recognized the PNCA’s role in promoting young talent and emphasized the need to encourage and support emerging artists as a means of safeguarding and nurturing Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.
The exhibition is open to the public at PNCA Galleries 5 and 6, running daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, excluding Saturdays, and continues until September 10.
