Dengue Virus Alert in Islamabad and Protective Measures

Islamabad health authorities have issued an alert as the number of dengue cases rises in the city, urging residents to take preventive measures. According to the District Health Office Islamabad, a total of 122 confirmed dengue cases have been reported in Islamabad Capital Territory, with most patients having recently traveled to Murree.
Officials have asked citizens to remain vigilant against dengue, which is spread by mosquitoes and can cause fever and severe body pain. The health office recommends several protective steps, including preventing water from accumulating in and around homes, covering water tanks, flower pots, and containers, using mosquito nets and repellents, installing screens on windows and doors, wearing light-colored clothing with long sleeves, and seeking immediate medical attention if symptoms such as fever or body aches appear.
Residents have also been urged to cooperate fully with government teams working to control the spread of dengue. These measures, officials say, are crucial for effectively containing the virus and ensuring public safety.
