TEVTA Visiting Teachers Gain Industry-Relevant Skills

For the first time in its history, the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) has provided specialized, industry-focused training for its visiting faculty, aiming to enhance the quality of technical education and align instructors’ skills with current industry requirements.

This comprehensive training initiative is being conducted in collaboration with the TVET Sector Support Programme (TVET SSP) and the German development agency GIZ. The program consists of four phases and is set to benefit a total of 171 visiting teachers. The first two phases have been successfully completed, training 25 and 46 participants, respectively, while the upcoming third and fourth phases will include 70 and 30 participants.

The training sessions are being held at leading industrial organizations such as Haier, Honda, Dawlance, and Sky Power Pvt. Ltd., providing teachers with hands-on, practical experience directly relevant to the modern workplace. This approach is intended to not only upgrade teaching techniques but also ensure that students receive industry-aligned instruction, increasing their employability.

At the closing ceremony of the recent training session, TEVTA Chairman Brigadier Muhammad Sajid Khokhar (Retd) recognized the achievements of high-performing participants by awarding them certificates. This initiative reflects TEVTA’s ongoing commitment to fostering a skilled workforce and maintaining up-to-date educational standards in technical and vocational training.
