Yusuf Raza Gilani Visits Multan Flood Relief Camps

Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani visited various flood relief camps in Multan, emphasizing that all flood-affected people will receive assistance without discrimination. During his tour, he inspected facilities, met with flood victims, and assured comprehensive support for those in need.
Gillani began his visit at Sher Shah Girls High School in Multan, where a flood relief camp has been set up for displaced families. He inquired about the availability and quality of medicines at the medical camp and later personally assessed the flood situation at the Sher Shah embankment. Additionally, he visited another relief camp at Government High School Bach, reviewing the arrangements for affected residents. Assistant Commissioner Arif Iqbal briefed him on the efforts underway, and he was accompanied by National Assembly member Abdul Qadir Gillani, local political and social leaders, government officials, and other community elders.
While interacting with evacuees, Gillani checked on their wellbeing and asked about the facilities being provided to them. Speaking to the media, he stated that thousands have been forced to leave their homes and livestock due to the flooding. Gillani stressed that relief and essential facilities, including food and medicine, would be provided to all victims equally, regardless of background. He noted the challenges many face and assured that authorities are striving to meet all necessities. Gillani also stated that any complaints or shortcomings in the camps would be promptly addressed.
He praised the local administration for their role and efforts in evacuating and supporting affected people during this difficult period, highlighting their dedication. He also acknowledged the media’s vital contribution in guiding and informing affected communities.
National Assembly member Abdul Qadir Gillani pledged that every effort would be made to help flood victims and assured that they would be properly cared for as long as they remain in the camps. He emphasized that all agencies are committed to meeting the needs of children, women, and the elderly residing in relief centers.
