Punjab CM Honors Owais Ali for Board Success

On 22 September 2025 Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz invited Owais Ali, a student of Government Higher Secondary School Kontrila in Tehsil Gujar Khan, after he scored 1003 marks to secure the second position in the Rawalpindi Board first year intermediate annual exam 2025 in the Humanities group. The ceremony included District Education Authority Rawalpindi CEO Tariq Mahmood and Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.

The Chief Minister praised Owais Ali’s dedication and remarked that students from government schools can achieve outstanding results through hard work. To recognize his performance and to encourage others, the CM presented Owais Ali with a special award cheque of Rs500,000.

Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat and Punjab School Education Department Secretary Khalid Nazeer Watto assured Owais Ali and his parents that the Punjab government will continue to support education initiatives and help promising students reach their potential. They commended the efforts of the District Education Authority in fostering student success.

CEO Tariq Mahmood highlighted ongoing work to improve quality education under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hasan Waqar Cheema. He said the authority is committed to ensuring better learning outcomes across government schools and noted that Owais Ali’s achievement is an example of what targeted support and student commitment can deliver.

The recognition of Owais Ali underscores provincial efforts to spotlight merit from public sector institutions and to motivate other students in Rawalpindi and beyond to pursue academic excellence.
