Young Climate Activists Explore Mangrove Solutions in Pakistan

UN Women Pakistan, in collaboration with the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, organized an educational tour to the Korangi Creek Mangrove Forest in Karachi for young climate activists from the Youth Climate Action Initiative. The visit aimed to give participants a practical understanding of how mangroves safeguard coastlines and contribute to natural climate solutions.
During the tour, the youth learned about the ecological significance of mangroves, including their role in protecting coastal areas from erosion and supporting biodiversity. The exposure allowed them to witness firsthand how nature-based solutions can strengthen Pakistan’s resilience to climate change.
Organizers emphasized that experiences like these help cultivate environmental stewardship among young people and prepare them to take active roles in promoting sustainability. The initiative is seen as an important step toward building a greener and more resilient future for the country.
