Strengthening Pakistan Germany Parliamentary Ties
On 28 October 2025 in Islamabad, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, who serves as convener of the Pakistan Germany Friendship Group, received German parliamentarian Derya Türk-Nachbaur and Germany’s ambassador to Pakistan, Ina Lepel, for discussions aimed at deepening bilateral engagement.
The meeting focused on strengthening parliamentary relations and expanding economic cooperation between Pakistan and Germany, with particular emphasis on trade, investment, renewable energy, education, environment, skills training and industrial development. Delegates discussed ways to enhance direct contact between lawmakers to support sustained collaboration.
Deputy Speaker Shah welcomed the delegation and described Germany as a trusted partner that has provided significant support in education, energy, environmental projects, vocational training and industrial growth. He stressed the importance of broadening Pakistan Germany ties through increased investment and technical cooperation in sectors where both countries have shared interests.
German parliamentarian Derya Türk-Nachbaur underscored Germany’s commitment to parliamentary diplomacy and affirmed continued collaboration with Pakistan’s parliament. Ambassador Ina Lepel reiterated Germany’s resolve to bolster both economic and parliamentary links with Pakistan, highlighting the value of sustained exchanges between legislative delegations.
Expressing gratitude to the visitors, the Deputy Speaker said he was hopeful the meeting would mark the beginning of a new chapter in Pakistan Germany relations, with enhanced parliamentary engagement and expanded cooperation in priority sectors.
