Advancing Regional Cooperation with Neighbouring States
Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, chaired a meeting in Islamabad on 1 October 2025 to review avenues for enhancing cooperation with regional countries. The session brought together the Minister for Petroleum, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, the Attorney General and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other concerned departments to assess priorities and next steps.
Participants focused on strengthening cooperation in trade and commerce, improving connectivity links, expanding energy collaboration and deepening people-to-people exchanges. The discussions examined practical measures to boost economic ties and facilitate smoother cross-border interaction while safeguarding national interests.
The DPM/FM underscored that Pakistan will continue to pursue mutually beneficial cooperation to advance regional development and collective well-being. Officials agreed to keep exploring policy options and coordination mechanisms that support sustained regional cooperation and tangible benefits for communities across the neighbourhood.
