Delegation Visits NEOC to Strengthen Disaster Preparedness

A delegation from the 27th National Security Workshop visited the NEOC at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) headquarters for an in-depth briefing on Pakistan’s integrated approach to disaster management. NDMA officials explained the authority’s mandate, organizational framework and nationwide strategy for risk reduction, preparedness and response, underlining the central role of the NEOC in national coordination.

Participants were briefed on NEOC’s round-the-clock monitoring and coordination functions, including real-time data sharing and early warning dissemination that enable swift preventive action. NDMA experts highlighted how the NEOC supports inter-agency collaboration to ensure timely operational responses at federal and provincial levels, drawing on centralized protocols and communication channels.

The delegation was shown NEOC’s modern monitoring and forecasting systems and technology-driven tools that support timely communication of alerts to relevant departments. Officials described how anticipatory planning and centralized coordination mechanisms are applied to bolster operational readiness for events such as Monsoon 2025, with emphasis on risk communication and rapid mobilization of resources.

Visiting members appreciated the forward-looking strategy and commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s resilience through anticipatory planning and institutional collaboration. The visit concluded with an interactive exchange of ideas on enhancing national disaster management capabilities and sustaining technology-enabled coordination at the NEOC.
