Hospital Pledged for Rawalpindi Christmas Community

The Municipal Labour Union organised an elegant Christmas event in Rawalpindi attended by political and social figures from across the city and a large number of corporation employees. The gathering included former Mayor Sardar Naseem, Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry, MNA Malik Abrar, Ziaullah Shah, Raja Hanif Advocate, Haji Pervez, Pirzada Rehat Qudosi, Javed Mughal, Raja Haroon, Pastor Shahid Raza and senior union leaders including Arshad Khan, Malik Ghazanfarullah, Sufi Fayyaz, Tariq Yusuf, Chingiz Bhatti, Nisar Kiani, Abdul Waheed, Zaka Haider Shah, Raja Danish Abbasi, Shahid Khan, Chaudhry Fakhr, Raja Naveed Khan, Malik Usman, Shan Cheeda and Zeeshan Akbar.

Speakers at the event extended warm Christmas greetings to the Christian community and reiterated the importance of interfaith harmony in Pakistan. They highlighted the longstanding contributions of Christian citizens to the country’s development and said those contributions must always be remembered. The comments reflected a shared commitment to social cohesion and mutual respect in Rawalpindi.

Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, announced during his address that a hospital will be established in Rawalpindi specifically to serve the Christian community, with the aim of providing modern and quality medical treatment. The pledge was presented as a concrete step to improve healthcare access and support the community’s wellbeing.

The Municipal Labour Union leadership, including President Raja Haroon and General Secretary Pastor Shahid Raza, publicly thanked Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry for the important announcement and expressed hope that the promised hospital will enhance local healthcare infrastructure. Organisers said the initiative aligns with the union’s ongoing efforts to support municipal staff and residents alike.

The event concluded with a ceremonial cake cutting and collective prayers for peace, development and prosperity in the country. Attendees described the occasion as a reaffirmation of interfaith solidarity and a positive move toward ensuring the Christian community in Rawalpindi receives improved medical services and social support.
