RCCI partnership advances UK college collaboration

Usman Shaukat, President of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, attended the launch ceremony marking a new collaboration between IVY College of Management Sciences and the University of Portsmouth, accompanied by Vice President Fahad Barlas. The gathering highlighted education links that can support business and professional networks between Pakistan and the UK.

During the event, President Shaukat held a substantive conversation with H.E. Ms. Jane Marriott, the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, focusing on how the RCCI partnership can foster closer cooperation in trade, investment and networking opportunities for local businesses and students. The discussion underlined mutual interest in leveraging academic ties to strengthen commercial engagement.

President Shaukat formally invited the British High Commissioner to visit the RCCI Chamber House, signalling a commitment to ongoing dialogue and collaboration. The invitation reflects the chamber’s intent to convert educational partnerships into practical benefits for Rawalpindi’s business community through enhanced connections and potential joint initiatives.

The RCCI partnership with international academic institutions is being viewed locally as an important step toward deeper economic and educational exchange, offering avenues for skills development and commercial linkages that align with the chamber’s priorities for trade and investment growth.
