Kazakhstan Secures Bronze in U17 Field Hockey
On January 1-2, 2026 Lahore hosted the inaugural 2025–26 International Junior (U17) field hockey tournament, drawing athletes from eight countries to compete in the city’s growing junior sports calendar. The event highlighted Lahore’s capacity to stage international youth competitions and provided valuable exposure for emerging players across the region.
The national team of Kazakhstan delivered a strong performance across the two-day tournament and ultimately secured third place. The squad’s podium finish reflects steady development at the junior level and adds a notable result to Kazakhstan’s youth hockey programme.
The Embassy of Kazakhstan to Pakistan formally congratulated the team on its successful showing and expressed gratitude to the Pakistani hosts for the high level of organisation and their traditional hospitality. Officials praised the tournament’s smooth operation and the opportunity it created for young athletes to gain international experience.
The Lahore tournament underlined the importance of international youth sport exchanges and offered a platform for U17 field hockey players to gain competition exposure while strengthening sporting ties between Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
