CPSP President Drives Career Counselling in Lahore

Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, President of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, visited Punjab Rangers Teaching Hospital in Lahore at the invitation of Prof Brig (R) Aftab Ahmed, Medical Superintendent. The visit brought senior faculty and postgraduate trainees together for an exchange on medical training and professional development.

The delegation included Brig (R) Mohammad Zaka Ullah, Professor Nasir Saleem, Professor Shahnaz Kausar and a cohort of postgraduate residents who participated in an open dialogue with the CPSP leadership. The meeting allowed faculty and residents to raise questions and discuss pathways for advanced clinical training.

Professor Khalid Masood Gondal delivered a focused presentation on career counselling and provided updates from CPSP, emphasising the college’s national and international achievements and its future vision. The interactive session gave residents practical guidance on career choices and clarified recent developments in postgraduate certification and training standards.

The visit underlined CPSP’s ongoing role in strengthening postgraduate medical education across Pakistan and highlighted the importance of hospital-academia collaboration in Lahore and beyond. Hospital leadership expressed appreciation for the engagement and pledged continued support for resident development under CPSP guidance.
