Pakistan and Guatemala Boost Diplomatic Ties
H.E. Shozab Abbas, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Mexico and concurrently accredited to Guatemala, met with Guatemala’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Mónica Bolaños Pérez, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and diplomatic engagement.
The talks explored practical ways to deepen Pakistan Guatemala relations, including consideration of formal agreements on bilateral political consultations and a potential Visa Exemption Agreement. Delegates emphasised that such measures could facilitate official travel and enhance people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to dialogue, cooperation and respect for international law, underlining a shared willingness to pursue concrete mechanisms to advance the partnership. The meeting reflects Pakistan’s continued outreach in Central America and Guatemala’s interest in expanding diplomatic channels.
Officials agreed to continue consultations to refine proposals and assess timelines for formalising any future agreements, keeping the focus on mutual benefit and strengthened bilateral ties.
