Moving to Resume Russia Pakistan Flights

On January 28, Ambassador Albert P. Khorev and Russian Trade Representative Denis Nevzorov met with Hassan Ali Bhatti, Chairman of Sialkot International Airport, at his secretariat to discuss resuming direct flights between Russia and Pakistan. The conversation focused on practical steps that could lead to the return of direct services and improve air links between the two countries.

During the meeting the delegation highlighted the importance of the Sialkot gateway for both passenger travel and cargo movement, noting that reviving Russia Pakistan flights would strengthen connectivity for businesses and communities in the region. The focus remained on how the airport could facilitate reliable and efficient routes between the two nations.

Ambassador Khorev complimented the infrastructure of Pakistan’s first private international airport, saying its facilities and operational readiness could support renewed direct links. The praise underscored Sialkot International Airport’s potential role in restoring regular services and enhancing bilateral travel and trade.

The officials agreed to continue discussions and to explore the next steps needed to advance the plan for resuming Russia Pakistan flights, keeping the interests of travelers, exporters and regional stakeholders in view as talks progress.
