Driving Global Africa Tech Integration in 2026

Algeria will host Global Africa Tech 2026 from March 28 to 30 at the International Conference Center in Algiers under the high patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The event aims to position Algeria as a regional hub for digital innovation while advancing a continent-wide agenda for connectivity and technology.

Sid Ali Zerrouki, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, said the conference is part of a broader plan to build a digitally unified Africa, noting the event slogan All Networks, One Convergence as a strategic call to integrate terrestrial, satellite and submarine networks into a secure and sustainable communications ecosystem. The focus on convergence is central to accelerating economic growth and digital transformation across the continent.

Discussions will prioritise strengthening fibre optic networks to improve data speed and service quality, launching advanced satellite and air communications initiatives to extend coverage in remote areas and enhance digital security, and protecting submarine cables while connecting smart ports to support digital trade and pan-African connectivity. These infrastructure pillars are presented as essential components of the continent’s next phase of digital development.

Organised by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications in partnership with Algeria Telecom, Global Africa Tech 2026 expects over 5,000 participants from around 45 countries, including roughly 50 ministers and senior decision makers, global technology firms and sector experts. The scale of participation underlines the event’s role as a major platform for policy dialogue, investment and technical cooperation.

The event follows Algeria’s successful hosting of the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair in September 2025 and the 3rd African Startup Conference in December 2025, and precedes the Africa ICT Summit scheduled for April 21-23, 2026. Together these gatherings reinforce Algeria’s emergence as a continental gateway for partnerships, investment, startups and digital solutions.

For Pakistani technology companies, investors and policymakers monitoring continental trends, Global Africa Tech presents concrete opportunities to engage with African counterparts on connectivity projects, submarine cable protection, smart port integration and satellite initiatives. The event’s emphasis on infrastructure and cross-border collaboration could open avenues for Pakistani expertise in telecommunications, digital services and startup ecosystems.
