KSrelief Launches Ramadan Food Aid in Pakistan

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), in coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), has begun distributing Ramadan food baskets to 192,500 vulnerable people across 30 districts under the Food Security Support Project Pakistan 2026 (Phase-5). This Ramadan Food Aid programme is intended to reduce food insecurity for households during the holy month.

Each food basket weighs 97 kilograms and contains 80 kg of wheat flour, 5 litres of cooking oil, 5 kg of sugar, 2 kg of dates and 5 kg of gram pulse (Daal Chana). The composition is calculated to sustain an average household for the full month of Ramadan.

Distribution is being carried out in a transparent, coordinated manner with Provincial Disaster Management Authorities, the Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority (GBDMA), the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), district administrations and KSrelief’s implementing partners, the Hayat Foundation and the Peace & Development Organization.

The initiative reflects KSrelief’s broader humanitarian mandate to alleviate suffering and enhance resilience by providing timely food assistance to vulnerable communities during Ramadan. Local coordination aims to ensure equitable reach across provinces and territories while maintaining accountability at the district level.

Continued monitoring and collaboration with local authorities and partners are central to keeping the Ramadan Food Aid distribution efficient and responsive as deliveries proceed across the 30 targeted districts.
