Driving Hockey Scrutiny Reform with PHF

A delegation of KP Hockey Lovers met Pakistan Hockey Federation President Mohiuddin Wani on Tuesday to congratulate him on assuming his duties and to press for urgent reforms in the governance of the sport. The visitors, who traveled from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, included Amjad Aziz Malik, Muhammad Tufail, Afsar Ali, Shafqatullah, Olympian Rahim Khan, Rauf Lala, Akhtar Zaib, Haji Bashir, Hamza Tufail and Murad Ali along with other associates.

During the meeting the group held detailed talks on the present condition of hockey in the country with a particular focus on establishing a credible nationwide hockey scrutiny system. Delegation members emphasised that a fully transparent and impartial scrutiny process is the immediate need if Pakistan is to rebuild trust and competitiveness in the sport.

Speakers from the delegation argued that selections and appointments must be rooted in merit, transparency and justice, and they urged the PHF leadership to adopt clear procedures that remove ambiguity and favouritism. They underlined that consistent, fair scrutiny will be central to restoring Pakistan hockey’s lost stature at national and international levels.

Expressing cautious optimism, the delegation said they hope the current administration under Mohiuddin Wani will move swiftly to introduce reforms, ensure accountability and uphold merit across all hockey affairs. Clear improvements to hockey scrutiny and governance, they said, are essential steps toward long-term progress and development of the national sport.
