
Pakistani tennis players, Ahmad Nael Qureshi and Bilal Asim have advanced to the semifinals of the ITF Pakistan PPL-Syed Dilawar Abbas World Junior Tennis Championship.
Ahmad Nael Qureshi secured a dominant 6-1, 6-2 victory over Minwoo Kim of Korea, delivering a performance marked by aggressive play and flawless consistency.
A fantastic win from Ahmad Nael Qureshi has earned him a spot in the semifinals of the ongoing event, where he will continue to be a strong contender for the title.
Bilal Asim, meanwhile, progressed to the next round after his opponent, Muhammad Talha Khan, withdrew due to a shoulder injury, granting Asim a walkover.
Despite the unconventional route, Bilal Asim remains a key player after impressing in earlier rounds of the tournament.
In the boys’ singles quarterfinals, results included Xiuyuan Guo of China edging past Pakistan’s Abubakar Talha 6-3, 7-5, while Korea’s Sion Ji dominated Youngchae Oh 6-1, 6-0.
In the boys’ doubles, Pakistani pairs continued to shine, with Muhammad Haider Ali Rizwan and Abubakar Talha edging out Japan’s Yota Nishikori and Korea’s Youngchae Oh, while Qureshi and Asim triumphed over Thai opponents Pudit and Teetawat 6-3, 6-4.
The tournament has attracted 80 junior players from 14 countries, solidifying Pakistan’s growing prominence in the world of junior tennis.
