The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced the schedule and details for the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025, along with unveiling a revised exam curriculum.

The announcement was made during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination, presided over by committee chairman Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani. During the meeting, PMDC officials informed committee members that the MDCAT 2025 examination will be conducted simultaneously on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at testing centres across Pakistan.

Earlier, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council had released a new curriculum for the MDCAT 2025 exam. According to PMDC President Dr. Rizwan Taj, the revised test format covers five subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Logical Reasoning.

The upcoming MDCAT exam will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with candidates receiving a total exam duration of three hours. No negative marking will be applied on incorrect answers, and the questions have been carefully designed to meet various skill levels, categorized as 15% easy, 70% moderate, and 15% difficult.

Additionally, PMDC has set specific minimum qualifying criteria in the exam. Candidates must score at least 55% to be eligible for admission to medical colleges and at least 50% for dental college admissions.

Furthermore, PMDC has announced that it has started preparations for creating a comprehensive question bank to support the standardized MDCAT examination process. The new curriculum and question bank development process were carried out in collaboration with academic professionals, educational boards, and universities to ensure alignment with national education standards.
