WAPDA Administrative Staff Visits PITB for ICT Insights

A delegation from the WAPDA Administrative Staff College Islamabad visited the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to explore the digital transformation initiatives being implemented across the province, with a particular focus on the education sector. The visit aimed to foster knowledge sharing regarding innovative ICT interventions driving efficiency and transparency in public sector governance.

The delegation was led by Sana Ullah, Director General (Training) and Course Director at WASC, accompanied by Adeeba Aslam, Senior Instructor (Management) and Deputy Course Director, along with participants from the 195th Management Course. During their visit, DG PITB Waqar Naeem Qureshi provided an extensive overview of PITB’s fundamental role in accelerating digital governance in Punjab through scalable and sustainable ICT solutions.

Further, Director Shahid Akram Khan delivered a detailed presentation on the Training Management System (TMS), showcasing how the platform has streamlined training operations for government departments and contributed towards greater financial transparency. Joint Director Sajjad Qureshi highlighted several key IT initiatives undertaken within the education sector, underlining their impact on improving administrative processes and public service delivery.

In addition to interactive sessions, the delegation toured key facilities including the PITB Data Center, Punjab Masstransit Authority (PMA), and the e-Khidmat Markaz. These visits provided the guests with firsthand insights into the robust infrastructure supporting Punjab’s digital transformation and the operations ensuring effective implementation and maintenance of public sector IT projects.

The knowledge exchange underscored PITB’s commitment to fostering innovation in governance and its collaboration with organizations like WAPDA in promoting digital capacity-building within the public sector.
