Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi Handled Over 8,000 Emergencies in July

Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi addressed an overwhelming 8,151 emergency situations in July, demonstrating the vital role the agency plays in ensuring public safety throughout the city. The volume and variety of emergencies highlight ongoing challenges faced by residents and the essential function of timely emergency response services.

Medical emergencies dominated the calls for help, accounting for 4,472 cases. These included both chronic illness flare-ups and urgent medical incidents requiring immediate intervention. The high frequency of medical emergencies indicates a heavy dependence on emergency services and points to underlying public health issues faced by the community.

Road traffic accidents represented the second largest category, with 1,318 incidents recorded over the month. These frequent accidents continue to tax emergency resources and underline the urgent need for improved road safety measures and greater public awareness to reduce the number of such incidents.

Rescue 1122 also responded to 899 miscellaneous emergencies, as well as 294 cases involving falls and slips. Many of these incidents involved vulnerable individuals, such as children and the elderly, who are particularly at risk in everyday situations. There were also 159 crime-related emergencies requiring the presence and intervention of emergency personnel.

Major incidents and drowning cases were reported less frequently, with 12 cases each, but both required specialized rescue responses. Fire emergencies accounted for 84 incidents, each of which, despite being less common, posed significant danger and typically demanded substantial resources and coordinated action.

Structural collapses, though rare with 7 cases, involved complex rescue operations and significant risks to both victims and rescuers.

Across all categories, Rescue 1122 successfully rescued a total of 8,151 individuals during the month. The agency’s effective and timely response to a wide range of emergencies has been credited with saving lives and minimizing harm, cementing its reputation as a critical lifeline for the people of Rawalpindi.
