Strengthening Rapid Response Teams in Multan
The National Institute of Health Pakistan, in collaboration with the Health Department Punjab and with support from The Global Fund, completed a comprehensive three-day All Hazards Rapid Response Team training and simulation exercise in Multan. The event focused on building practical capabilities so local teams can respond quickly to emerging public health threats.
The training brought frontline health personnel together to practice coordinated response actions, refine incident management skills and strengthen field-level decision making. Emphasis on realistic simulation scenarios ensured that Rapid Response Team members experienced hands-on problem solving under conditions that mirror real emergencies.
Organisers said the exercise reinforced interagency coordination across provincial systems and improved readiness at district level in Punjab. By combining technical instruction with live drills, the initiative aimed to shorten response times and enhance the effectiveness of public health interventions delivered by Rapid Response Team units.
Support from The Global Fund alongside institutional leadership from NIH Pakistan and the Health Department Punjab highlights sustained investment in emergency preparedness. The programme is intended to keep frontline responders current with best practices and ready to protect communities across Multan and surrounding districts.
