The Pakistan Air Force contingent at Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport drew significant attention with the JF-17 Block-III on display, where an MoU for procurement was signed with a friendly country and several other nations expressed interest.
Alongside the fighter, the PAF showcased the Super Mushshak trainer aircraft, underlining Pakistan’s expanding capabilities in military aviation and pilot training. The presence of both platforms highlighted a balanced pitch of combat power and training infrastructure for potential partners.
The JF-17 Block-III, a 4.5-generation multi-role fighter, features advanced radar systems and is cleared to carry long-range missiles, enabling a wide range of combat missions. Pakistani officials emphasised the aircraft’s operational flexibility and modern avionics during discussions with visiting delegations.
PAF briefings referenced the aircraft’s combat record, noting its use in conflicts with India in 2019 and 2025, including missile strikes on enemy air defence systems and operations along the Line of Control. Delegations at the airshow were shown how the JF-17 Block-III integrates strike and defensive roles suitable for varied mission profiles.
Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu held bilateral meetings with air chiefs from friendly nations and met UAE Defence Undersecretary Lieutenant General Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Al-Alawi and Air Force & Air Defence Commander Major General Rashid Mohammed Al-Shamsi. Talks focused on advanced training, aerospace technology collaboration and improved operational coordination.
The UAE military praised Pakistan’s modernisation drive and indigenous defence capabilities, and both sides agreed to deepen cooperation through joint exercises, professional exchanges and strategic partnerships. The engagement at the Dubai Airshow reinforced Pakistan’s role as a provider of competitive defence platforms and training solutions in the region.
