NCSW Members Honored for Empowering Women Across Pakistan

The National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) in Islamabad has expressed appreciation for the dedication and service of its members across Pakistan, recognizing their ongoing efforts to promote the rights and empowerment of women. The Commission highlighted the significant contributions of members such as Ms. Ayra Inderyas, Sister Marium, Cma Maheshwary, and others from various provinces and regions, particularly for their participation in National Minority Day and Independence Day activities.
NCSW Chairperson Ume-Laila Azhar commended the members for their active role in advancing women’s empowerment and encouraged their continued efforts. The members’ involvement in events and national conferences underscored the Commission’s 25-year history of progress, beginning with advocacy for basic needs like separate washrooms for women and evolving towards the passage of landmark laws and amendments, especially for the protection of minority women. The Commission has also championed economic and political empowerment initiatives for women.
Over the years, the NCSW has led the way in promoting gender equality, equity, and inclusion. Its initiatives have included improving access to educational institutions, establishing vocational training centers, and fostering digital inclusion in partnership with other organizations. The Commission continues to celebrate the commitment, passion, and vision of its members, acknowledging their role in creating a more inclusive and empowered society for all women in Pakistan.
