Green School Certification Finalizes Criteria for Punjab

The Green School Certification Program (GSCP) has taken a significant step forward as stakeholders convened for its second meeting to finalize key elements of the initiative. The gathering focused on agreeing upon the criteria, methodology, and strategies that will shape the certification system for schools across Punjab.

GSCP aims to encourage and inspire students to contribute toward building a climate-resilient Punjab. By integrating environmental awareness and sustainable practices within schools, the program intends to foster a generation that is proactive in addressing climate challenges.

During the meeting, participants discussed how schools can meet and demonstrate compliance with the established standards. Strategies for effective implementation were also reviewed, ensuring that the certification process is both rigorous and achievable for educational institutions throughout the province.

The initiative is part of broader efforts to increase environmental education and engagement among young people, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to safeguard the region’s environment for the future.
