Pakistan Bahrain relations strengthened in parliamentary talks

Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met with Dr. Adel Abdulrahman Al Maawda, a member of Bahrain’s Shura Council and deputy chair of its Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee, at Parliament House to discuss enhancing parliamentary cooperation, bilateral ties, economic investment opportunities, and the welfare of Pakistani expatriates in Bahrain. Both leaders reaffirmed the close, brotherly relations between the two countries and expressed a mutual desire to deepen cooperation at the parliamentary and economic levels.

During the meeting, Speaker Sadiq underscored the longstanding fraternal relationship between Pakistan and Bahrain and emphasized Islamabad’s high regard for its friendly ties with Manama. He called for strengthening contacts between the two parliaments, saying that enhanced parliamentary engagement would bring the peoples of both countries closer and further solidify bilateral relations.

The Speaker highlighted the role of the Pakistan-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship Group, established within the National Assembly, as an important platform for promoting legislative exchanges and parliamentary-level cooperation. He also outlined the wide range of investment opportunities available across various sectors in Pakistan and invited Bahraini investors to consider mutually beneficial investments in the country.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed appreciation to the Bahraini government for the facilities and support provided to Pakistani nationals residing in Bahrain, noting their significant contribution to the host country’s development.

In response, Dr. Adel Abdulrahman Al Maawda welcomed the Speaker’s remarks about Bahrain and affirmed that his country values its longstanding friendly relations with Pakistan. He praised the role of the Pakistani community in Bahrain’s progress and reiterated Bahrain’s interest in further strengthening bilateral ties and parliamentary cooperation.
