Rawalpindi Police conduct major drug and crime raids

Rawalpindi police conducted a series of coordinated operations across the district that resulted in multiple arrests and the seizure of drugs, alcohol, weapons and stolen property. Officers acting under the direction of CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani reported the recovery of more than 10.5 kilograms of cannabis, the detention of suspects in street crimes and a stabbing case, the seizure of 87 liters of illicit liquor, and the arrest of individuals in possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.

Drug raids and arrests
Under a citywide drive aligned with the provincial Vision Drug‑Free Punjab initiative, separate teams recovered a total of more than 10.5 kilograms of cannabis and arrested four suspected suppliers. Ratta Amral police detained one person and seized 5 kilograms of cannabis; Naseerabad police arrested one individual and recovered 2.4 kilograms; Wah Cantt police arrested one suspect and seized 1.66 kilograms; and Gujar Khan police detained one person and recovered 1.65 kilograms. CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani said all necessary steps are being taken to eliminate the drug menace.

Street crime and motorcycle theft
New Town police arrested a suspect wanted in a string of street crimes and motorcycle thefts. Officers recovered a stolen motorcycle, 14,000 rupees in cash and a weapon from the detainee. SP Rawalpindi Saad Arshad said the suspect will be presented in court with solid evidence and warned that those who deprive citizens of their valuables will not escape the law.

Arrest in stabbing case
Police at the Civil Lines station arrested a wanted individual alleged to have injured a person with a dagger during a personal dispute. The accused had gone into hiding after a case was filed; Civil Lines investigators tracked him down and took him into custody. SP Pothowar Talha Wali said the suspect will be forwarded to court on the basis of firm evidence.

False emergency call and land dispute
Waris Khan police apprehended a person who made a false emergency call to the 15 emergency line claiming illegal land occupation and threats. Officers responding to the call found the matter to be a dispute over motorcycle parking rather than an encroachment. The caller was charged and arrested. SP Saad Arshad emphasized that the 15 service is reserved for genuine public emergencies and that misuse will be met with strict action.

Seizures of illicit liquor
Across multiple stations, police detained seven people and recovered 87 liters of illicit liquor. Bani police arrested three suspects and seized 28 liters; Pirwadhai police detained one individual and recovered 20 liters; Waris Khan police arrested one person and seized 20 liters; and Gujar Khan police detained two suspects and recovered 19 liters. Divisional SPs said operations against illegal substances will continue.

Illegal weapons and ammunition
In separate actions, Rawalpindi police arrested 10 individuals and recovered illegal weapons and ammunition. The raids and detentions took place in areas including Bani, Ganj Mandi, Pirwadhai, Waris Khan, Chaklala, Morgah, Jatli and Kallar Syedan. Authorities said efforts to remove unlawful firearms from the streets will be sustained.

All actions and recoveries were reported by Rawalpindi Police officials, who said the arrested suspects will be processed and presented before the courts.
