Driving Green Development SEED Program Concludes

The successful conclusion of the Sustainable Energy and Economic Development initiative, known as the SEED program, was marked at a ceremony held on Wednesday in Peshawar under a UK collaboration. The event brought together government representatives, academia and civil society to recognise the programme’s achievements in promoting sustainable energy and local economic opportunities.

Arshad Ayub Khan, the provincial minister for Local Government, Elections and Rural Development, attended as the chief guest, while Jane Marriott, the British High Commissioner, was also present. The gathering included provincial ministers, senior government officials, representatives from universities, members of civil society and delegates from other institutions who had partnered in SEED program activities across the region.

The presence of the Secretary of the Planning and Development Department underscored official support for the collaboration between UK partners and local stakeholders. Participants highlighted how the SEED program has helped advance practical sustainable energy solutions and fostered connections between government, academia and community organisations.

The closing ceremony served as a platform to acknowledge the collective work undertaken and to reinforce the value of ongoing cooperation for future initiatives that aim to build on the SEED program’s emphasis on sustainable energy and economic development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
