Advancing Surgical Instruments Training in Pakistan
A partnership between NAVTTC and the Surgical Instruments Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (SIMAP) has been formalised to strengthen surgical instruments training across the country. The agreement focuses on developing industry-aligned skill development that responds to the needs of local manufacturers and the healthcare sector.
Mr. Zafar Haider, Director General (Planning & Development) at NAVTTC, attended the occasion and reaffirmed NAVTTC’s commitment to promoting industry-driven technical training and employment opportunities. His presence underscored the institution’s focus on practical, employment-oriented initiatives that prepare trainees for roles in surgical instrument production and maintenance.
By emphasising surgical instruments training, the collaboration seeks to bridge the gap between technical education and industry requirements, creating clearer pathways from training to jobs. Closer cooperation with SIMAP aims to ensure curricula and on-the-job training reflect current manufacturing standards and help trainees gain skills that are immediately useful to employers.
The NAVTTC and SIMAP agreement is positioned to support the growth of Pakistan’s surgical instruments sector by producing a skilled workforce, enhancing local manufacturing capabilities, and improving employment prospects for technical graduates. The focus on industry-driven technical training is expected to deliver long-term benefits for both workers and manufacturers in the country.
