Suhail Afridi Wins Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Vote

Suhail Afridi, a member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, secured the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief ministership after receiving 90 votes in the provincial assembly. The victory exceeded the required 73 votes, making Afridi the new leader of the provincial government following an assembly ballot.

The assembly session to elect the new chief minister was presided over by Speaker Babar Saleem Swati, who also took part in the voting. The proceedings confirmed the result without interruption, and the outcome reflects the numbers presented during the session.

During the meeting, PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur reiterated that he had tendered his resignation when instructed by his party leadership and spoke about loyalty and principles guiding his decision. His comments underscored internal party dynamics as the assembly moved to formalise the new chief ministership. The focus now shifts to how Suhail Afridi will lead the provincial government following this decisive mandate.
