Driving STI Resilience for Climate Action
ECOSF convened a dedicated session on leveraging science, technology and innovation to advance sustainable development and climate resilience on the sidelines of the 2nd International Conference on Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction. The session brought together ten distinguished speakers from China, Türkiye, Iran and Pakistan to share regional perspectives and practical approaches.
Speakers explored how STI can mitigate disaster risks, advance green design, promote electric mobility and enhance climate education. Discussions emphasized pathways to translate research into implementable solutions, with repeated reference to strengthening STI resilience for vulnerable communities and urban centres alike.
The multi country exchange underscored the value of collaboration in scaling up climate solutions across the region. ECOSF acknowledged the collaboration and support of CPJRC and UNESCO in organising the session. Participants stressed that continued cooperation will help inform policy and practice and bolster Pakistan and neighbouring countries efforts to embed STI resilience into development planning.
